Here’s a realistic-style contour drawing of a stuffed rabbit. This drawing is full-page size in reality, I used the official “right” way to hold the pen for this one, which really does work better over long periods of time to reduce hand cramping and produce crisper lines.

i was looking at your contour stuffed rabbit sketch from 3/23/06 and was wondering how you used the official “right” way to hold the pen. how do you mean?

Good question. Technically using your hand to move the pen is incorrect, you should hold the pen like a paintbrush and move your arm, always holding the pen to “pull” the lines onto the paper rather than “push” them. Once you see it demonstrated, it makes more sense.
